Brand
JUKI began in Tokyo in 1938 as an association of machinery makers. After the war it turned to sewing machines, finishing its first household machine, the HA-1, in 1947 and its first industrial machine in 1953. In 1969 it built a reliable automatic thread trimmer into an industrial lockstitch, which JUKI calls a stepping stone to the world's top market share. Today it makes industrial machines like the DDL series and household and semi-pro machines like the TL straight stitchers and MO sergers, in factories in Japan, China and Vietnam. Its industrial and household machines take different needles and power, so check which kind you're buying before you look at anything else.
